Habyt Launches New Co Living Space Tanjong Pagar
Habyt, a leading accommodation provider, has recently opened an 18-room space at 5 Kadayanallur Street in Tanjong Pagar. Known as Kada at Maxwell, this flagship space showcases Habyt’s new Habyt Flex concept, signaling a strategic expansion of their offerings beyond long-term co-living options.
According to Jonathan Wong, CEO of Habyt Asia Pacific, the company has plans to incorporate more short-term living options into their local portfolio, as seen with the launch of their 39-room Habyt Novena and 27-room Habyt Kallang in August. Other properties under the Habyt Flex concept include Habyt Cantonment and Owen House by Habyt.
Kada at Maxwell offers a variety of room types, from en suite studios to two- to three-bedroom units, all equipped with a fully functional kitchenette. Guests can choose to book rooms on a nightly or weekly basis, with an option for a 12-month stay as well.

Wong emphasises that Habyt Kada at Maxwell reflects the company’s dedication to revolutionising flexible living in Singapore and signifies their progression into the next phase of growth for Habyt Asia Pacific. Room prices start at $180 per night.
This unique living space is situated within a preserved 1920s colonial building. Originally designed by the architectural firm Swan & Maclaren, it was one of the first modernist buildings in Singapore and was initially built to house the St Andrew’s Mission Hospital for Women and Children.
In September 2023, the Singapore Land Authority (SLA) launched a public tender to lease the property. Bidders were evaluated based on their bid price and the quality of their proposed concept, with SLA encouraging creative lifestyle concepts. The property was eventually awarded to Bethesda Medical, whose monthly rental bid of $103,000 ranked third highest, behind Wan Dormitory ($160,000) and The Working Capitol ($108,240).
According to SLA, Bethesda Medical’s concept focused strongly on community building and establishing connections between people and businesses, which gave it the competitive edge. The first floor will feature 10 F&B options, the second floor will include a gym managed by Limitless, a wellness centre in partnership with Shiruki Studio, and a co-working space. Habyt’s Kada at Maxwell is located on the third floor.
