Spanning approximately 5,502 sq ft, the shophouse is zoned for commercial use and features a first floor approved for restaurant operations, as well as a section of the second floor. With a price of $20 million, the property’s psf price works out to be $3,635 based on its floor area.
Located in the Desker Road Conservation Area in District 8, the shophouse is in close proximity to Little India and is within walking distance to the Jalan Besar MRT Station on the Downtown Line. Zhu has revealed that the property is currently undergoing asset enhancement initiatives (AEI), which includes the installation of micro piles extending 30m to improve its structural foundations. The Chinatown Business Association also has plans to revitalize Smith Street with new and traditional lifestyle concepts.
