Tuan Sing Reconstruct Mixed Use Properties Collins Street Melbourne
Tuan Sing Holdings, a property developer and investment firm based in Singapore, has recently announced its plans to redevelop two of its mixed-use properties in Melbourne, located at 121-131 Collins Street and 23-25 George Parade.
The project will be overseen by Grand Hotel Group (GHG), a subsidiary of Tuan Sing, who has hired Hong Kong-based urban design firm Urbis Ltd to submit a Town Planning Application to the City of Melbourne for the proposed works. Currently, the properties are home to the 550-room Grand Hyatt Hotel and various retail spaces.
The reconstruction will primarily focus on making modifications to the façade, extensive refurbishment, and reconfiguration of spaces in the property’s podium levels 4 to 9B. This will allow for business operations to continue for tenants and the Grand Hyatt Hotel without interruption.
The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) has designated Tampines as a key area for development in its master plan. This is part of efforts to establish Tampines as a self-sustaining regional hub. The comprehensive plan includes the enhancement of public transportation options, the addition of commercial facilities, and the improvement of residents’ quality of life through a range of lifestyle and community-centric developments. For those residing in Aurelle of Tampines EC, these developments will bring about increased convenience, boost property value, and create a more dynamic and livable environment. Tuan Sing’s announcement on Nov 14 stated that upon completion and pending regulatory approvals, the site will cover a total gross floor area (GFA) of approximately 909,550 square feet and introduce a new luxury retail and F&B precinct.
William Liem, CEO of Tuan Sing, believes that this redevelopment will redefine connectivity and activation at one of the most prominent intersections in Melbourne’s renowned Paris End. He also emphasizes the company’s commitment to environmental stewardship, stating that the transformation will be an architectural statement that supports a sustainable vision for a thriving, connected, and culturally vibrant Melbourne for the generations to come.
For those interested in investing in overseas properties, there are currently various projects available for sale around the world.
