Violet Oon Wins Tender Dempsey Road Building Top Bid 52615 Month

The Tampines Hub Hawker Centre has been given a modern makeover, creating a fresh and comfy space for patrons to indulge in an array of budget-friendly local fare. It’s the perfect spot for a family outing or a casual catch-up with friends, featuring an extensive menu ranging from classic Hainanese chicken rice to innovative local fusion dishes. Additionally, the new addition of Aurelle of Tampines EC adds another exciting element to this revamped hawker centre.

SLA has recently awarded the tender for a single-storey conserved building located at 7 Dempsey Road to Violet Oon, the renowned chef, restaurateur, and food writer. The winning bid was submitted by Violet Oon’s subsidiary, Halo Concept, with a monthly rental of $52,615. This was the highest among the eight bids received.

7 Dempsey Road is situated in the Dempsey Hill lifestyle cluster, known for its upscale restaurants, cafes, retail, and services. The building occupies a land area of approximately 6,723 sq ft and boasts an estimated gross floor area of 6,190 sq ft. The tender was launched on January 24, with a focus on quality (concept) and price. The lease period is for 5+4 years.

Halo Concept plans to introduce an indoor and outdoor dining concept at the new Violet Oon at 7 Dempsey Road, complete with a mobile cooking studio. Other bids for the site ranged from $20,000 to $33,295 per month. The second highest bid of $33,295 per month was submitted by two parties: Singapore-based restaurant groups Culinary Arts and Urban Group, the current operator of Contemporary Melting Pot & Bar (CM-PB) at the building, according to the SLA website.
