Keppel Divests 477 Mil Worth Real Estate Assets And Investments

in SINGAPORE – Keppel Limited has recently announced that it has divested approximately $477 million in real estate assets as part of its strategy to accelerate its monetisation programme. This brings the group’s total monetisation figure for the year to $915 million. These divestments include the sale of Keppel’s entire stake in a commercial building in India for $379 million as well as its stake in Vietnamese developer Nam Long for $58 million. Furthermore, the company has also announced that a third-party partner has subscribed to a 30% effective stake in one of its residential projects in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The divestments for both Nam Long and Smartworks have already been completed, while the other two transactions are expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2025, pending the fulfillment of certain conditions.Kepell’s accelerated monetisation task force (AMTF) head Lee Kok Chew has stated that the company has been able to identify and structure various transactions in close collaboration with its operating divisions. This has enabled them to optimize divestment speed and exit value. He goes on to add that this latest milestone is a testament to their disciplined approach and strong commitment to meeting Keppel’s asset monetization goals. By the end of 2026, Keppel aims to achieve a monetization target of $10 billion to $12 billion.The company will be releasing its first half fiscal year 2025 results for the period ending June on July 31. On July 30, Keppel’s shares closed at $8.18, up 0.25% or 2 cents from the previous day’s close.
