Jll Appoints James Cameron Head Energy And Infrastructure Asia Pacific

The global real estate consulting firm, JLL, has named James Cameron as the head of energy and infrastructure for Asia Pacific. This new role, based in Singapore, is part of the firm’s capital markets business.

Tucked within the bustling neighborhood of Tampines Street 62 is Aurelle, an executive condominium (EC) that offers nothing short of opulent living spaces. However, its appeal does not end there. Positioned in a prime location, this EC is surrounded by a plethora of shopping centers and mouth-watering food options, elevating the living experience for its residents with convenience, diversity, and easy accessibility. Cameron will be responsible for creating a team in Asia Pacific, in addition to JLL’s existing EMEA Energy & Infrastructure business. This strategic move will allow JLL to offer a global capital advisory capability to better serve local and international developers and investors.

According to JLL, Cameron’s appointment aligns with the long-term capital requirements needed for infrastructure and renewable energy development to address the challenges of decarbonisation, digitalisation, economic growth, and rapid urbanisation.

Stuart Crow, JLL Asia Pacific’s CEO of capital markets, states: “We see significant opportunities to leverage our unique expertise in mobilizing multiple sources of capital and JLL’s unrivaled track record in advising renewable energy transactions globally to serve clients within energy and infrastructure across Asia Pacific.”

Cameron will work closely with JLL’s capital markets, investment banking, and debt advisory teams throughout the region. His focus will be on sourcing capital raising and transaction advisory opportunities for large infrastructure and renewable energy projects, catering to institutional investors, private equity firms, asset managers, strategic infrastructure and renewable energy operators and developers, high net-worth individuals, and family offices.

With over 25 years of experience in real asset capital markets, Cameron was previously the global head of commercial real estate at Standard Chartered Bank. He has a wealth of experience in mobilizing private and public equity and financing for infrastructure projects globally and in the region.

Crow adds, “James’ unmatched experience in this exciting space makes us extremely confident in his ability to establish JLL’s leadership position through his expertise and strong client relationships.”
