Cbre Appoints Hugh Macdonald Head Capital Advisors Apac
CBRE, a global real estate services and investment firm, has announced the appointment of Hugh Macdonald as the head of capital advisors for Asia Pacific (Apac). Macdonald brings with him over two decades of experience in the banking industry, with a focus on investment banking and expertise in the real estate, gaming, leisure, and lodging sectors. He joins CBRE from Deutsche Bank, where he held the role of head of investment banking coverage and advisory for Australia and New Zealand.
In his new position, Macdonald will be reporting to Leo van den Thillart, the global head of investment banking, and Greg Hyland, the head of capital markets for Apac. He will begin his role in Sydney before relocating to Singapore in the first quarter of 2025.
CBRE’s appointment of Macdonald is part of the company’s strategy to strengthen its capital advisory arm in the Apac region. This move follows the recent appointment of Virginia Huang as the managing director for the north and east China region by CBRE’s competitor, Knight Frank. With these new appointments, both companies are gearing up to navigate the rapidly evolving real estate market in this dynamic region.
